The Howard M. Pollack Medal was awarded annually to a distinguished radiologist who has made an outstanding contribution to the field of uroradiology and abdominal radiology, in addition to the Society itself. The Howard M. Pollack Medal is a continuation of the Gold Medal that was bestowed under the former Society of Uroradiology, with the last medal being bestowed under the SUR in 2012.

The SAR Igor Laufer Visiting Professorship is awarded each year to an outstanding abdominal radiologist who is an active member of the Society in good standing and who has demonstrated a history of contributions to the Society. These individuals are content experts and educational innovators in their respective field. They are dynamic speakers and demonstrate a passion for the educational pursuits of the Society. The Richard H. Marshak International Lecturer Award is presented to a member of the SAR who will represent the Society in its international educational outreach. This award is in honor of Dr. Richard H. Marshak, a founding member and the first president of the former Society of Gastrointestinal Radiologists for his spirit of lectureship and dedication to the SGR. Recipients of this award are recognized as experts in the field of abdominal radiology and serve as an ambassador of the Society. An annual contribution of $4,000 is received from the Marshak Fund in support of this award.
