Planned Giving

Support SAR through your will, estate plan, or long-term financial arrangements.
These gifts can provide tax benefits and may offer income during your lifetime.
Do I need to be wealthy to make a planned gift?
No. There is no minimum gift amount, and many planned gifts cost nothing today. Even a small bequest can make a meaningful impact on SAR’s future.
Can I change my planned gift later?
Yes. Most planned gifts — including bequests and beneficiary designations — are fully revocable and can be modified as your circumstances change.
What assets can I use to make a planned gift?
Common options include:
- Cash
- Retirement accounts (IRA, 403(b), 401(k))
- Life insurance policies
- Real estate
- Securities and investments
- Charitable trusts or annuities
What are the tax benefits?
Depending on the gift type, you may reduce estate taxes, capital-gains taxes, or income taxes, while supporting SAR’s mission.
How do I include SAR in my will or trust?
Your attorney can add a simple bequest. Most donors include wording naming SAR as a beneficiary of a specific amount, percentage, or the remainder of their estate.
Bequests can be modified throughout your lifetime and provide estate tax deductions. To include the Society for Abdominal Radiology in your estate plan, simply name us as a beneficiary in your estate planning documents.
Sample bequest language: "I give and bequeath to the Society for Abdominal Radiology, a not-for-profit corporation organized under the Laws of the State of Illinois and having its principal office at 1061 East Main Street, Suite 300, East Dundee, IL 60118."
- For a specific dollar amount: "the sum of $_______ to be used by the Society for Abdominal Radiology for its general purposes."
- For a percentage of your estate: "_______ percent of my estate to be used by Society for Abdominal Radiology for its general purposes."
Can SAR help me decide which option is best?
Absolutely. Our team can collaborate with you – and your financial or legal advisors – to explore options that align with your goals and values. Please contact Julie Kahlfeldt at jkahlfeldt@veritasamc.com or call 847-752-4732
Does SAR accept real estate donations?
Yes. You may donate real estate outright or as a retained life estate, allowing you to continue using the property during your lifetime.
Is my information kept confidential?
Yes. SAR honors all requests for privacy and will keep your gift details fully confidential unless you choose to be recognized.
What is the SAR Tax ID number?
SAR’s tax id number is 80-0783088
