Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma DFP - Frequently Asked Questions
We welcome applications from all SAR members interested in advancing the clinical care, education and research in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.
The selection of individuals for membership on the PDAC DFP is based on the applicant’s expertise in and contributions to imaging of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. Appointment of members involves an application process followed by voting on the member’s application by the entire core panel. The applicants are requested to submit:
- A copy of their most recent CV (highlighting any activities related to PDAC in the CV)
- A brief paragraph covering:
- Explanation of why the applicant would like to participate in the PDAC DFP and
- Description of potential contributions/activities for the DFP by the applicant, e.g., research projects, educational programs, etc.
After receiving the applicant documents, they are reviewed by the panel leadership and submitted to voting by the entire panel. A vote of >90% by the panel is considered a positive outcome.
New members are expected to actively contribute to the panel by participating in panel activities such as:
Annual Meeting Contributions: Present educational posters/exhibits, scientific papers/exhibits/posters, speaking at plenary sessions and workshops, and moderating sessions.
Scholarly Publications: Participations in review articles, consensus papers, white papers, etc. as author/co-author on a panel paper
Other enduring Materials: Participation in online educational materials, Educational Exhibits, Videos (YouTube, etc.), Infographics
Research projects: Contribution to a panel research project
Panel related Contributions: Contributions such as website updates, social media management for the panel, SAR Article Database management
Article Reviewer: Reviewing articles for Abdominal Radiology
Mentorship program: Formal mentoring of junior faculty/trainees in DFP-related activities.
